Recently taken over by the successful team of Sheila's Hostel (No 1 Hostel accommodation in Cork for Groups), Gabriel House enjoys a fantastic location - overlooking the harbour and only a 10 minute stroll from the house to the city centre.
The Guesthouse is deceptively quiet for such a centrally located establishment due to it setting in mature gardens with spacious car parking. Gabriel House - a period building dating from the 1900's, has been lovingly restored to its former glory with many of the original features of the house - ie 10 foot ceilings, feature staircase, chandlier light fittings, warm & vibrant furnishings etc. Gabriel House Budget accommodation offers groups 28 rooms to choose from with great facilities - from 5, 4 and 3 bedded rooms for students and single and twin rooms are available for leaders and coach drivers. All rooms are en-suite - toilet and shower in rooms.

Directions from Cork Airport – by car
Exit onto to the Airport Roundabout taking the 1st exit onto the N27 (sign posted Cork). Continue down to the Kinsale Road Roundabout, taking the 3rd exit onto the N27 (sign posted City Centre). Proceed on until you see the river. Turn left at the City Hall, turn right across Parnell Bridge then straight on to the river. Turn left onto Merchants Quay and then right across St Patrick’s Bridge. Proceed up Bridge Street and then turn right onto MacCurtain Street. At the lights bear left onto Summer Hill. Gabriel House Guest House is up the hill – approximately 500m on the right.
From Bus Station
Coming out of the bus station, the river Lee is in front of you. You will see a bridge no your right. Cross that bridge. Continue on to Brian Boru Street. At the end of the street, you will see the "Leisurplex" on your left. Cross the street here and turn right up Summerhill North. Walk along Summerhill for 500m and you will see Gabriel House on your right.
From Train Station
There are two ways to walk to Gabriel House. The first, and shortest, way is as follows: come out of the train station onto the Lower Glanmire Road; cross the street and turn left. You will see a series of steps on your right hand side. climb these steps and continue straight ahead to Summerhill North. Turn right and you will see Gabriel House after 200m or so.
If the steps seem a little daunting, just continue along the Lower Glanmire road until you see "Munster Sounds" hifi store. Turn right and go around the corner onto Summerhill North. Walk along Summerhill North for 500m and you will see Gabriel House on your right.
